My loss....

David's (Authorblog) Weekend Wandering question this week is:

What is the most important thing you have ever lost?

If you'd like to join in here's what David would like you to do: Please answer today's question on your own blog, any time until next weekend. Just link to this blog (or to this post) so I can follow the progress of the discussion.

The first year in NY was very hard for me...the first time am away from home in my 23 years of life...I never thought about living in another town... all my life i lived in a country side (small village). I came to one of the biggest city...cultural shock was unexplainable...
I started working in this place and share a apartment with two other ladies. one of them was Portuguese and other from NJ. I was feeling homesick so I carried my album all the time with me. It wasn't a big album, just a small one with lot of old pictures... we five together with Pappa and Amma, my Grandma's old photos ...a very rare collection!!!
One day I went to office early, leave my backpack there and go to bank with my check to deposit. I came back to find out my backpack is missing! With my backpack I lost my precious album, my brand new MP3 player and CD collection, metro card ...I can't remember what else was in there... I have lost all of my rare family photos with that backpack... Still I wish whoever took that bag please please give my album back...
Still it hurt me...

I'm sorry to hear that story Bindi. It's terrible to lose precious family photos because they are just irreplacable. Here in Oklahoma, we hear of this more often than one would like because of the violence of tornadoes. They come and erase a house, but carry off all a persons connections to the past like those precious photos.

Bindi,

Thanks for taking part in Weekend Wandering. What a terrible way to lose so many precious things, so very precious that you wanted to carry them everywhere.

I wonder if you were able to re-print the photographs from negatives ....

Dear Bindi,
I am so sad that you lost your family pictures, not a nice welcome to the big city.

I am glad that I have found you here, you are such a warm, inspiring person and loving mother and friend. You bring out the best in everybody.

Later today I will check out the link for Weekend Wandering, sounds very interesting...

Love and hugs,
Gig

Oh Bindi what a loss, I so feel for you honey. How long ago was that? Is it too late to maybe advertise for their return?

Hi honey. Happy Wednesday. I hope you and Serene have a beautiful day.

I agree with everyone, what a terrible loss. I'm going to find the time to take part in Weekend Wandering because it's a brilliant idea and very cathartic. I wish your photos had been returned and I'm sorry they weren't. Fortunately you have the beautiful memory.

I love you dear,
XO
